Shots fired at marijuana farm during robbery
Humboldt County CA October 13 2019
A robbery at a cannabis farm guarded by armed security included gunshots, the sheriff’s department is reporting.
Though details are sketchy at this point, a BOLO announced over the scanner reports that a cannabis farm was the victim of an armed robbery where shots were fired, and two vehicles were taken.
According to the BOLO, the farm was located in the French Camp Road area of the Bald Hills which is west of Hoopa. The BOLO stated that the suspects “fired a single shot at the feet of one of the workers.” Then, as they left, the suspects fired multiple shots.
According to Sgt. Greg Allen with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. today. He confirmed, “There was a robbery of a legal permitted marijuana this morning in the Hoopa Valley.
Several suspects were armed with firearms- no injuries were reported- Deputies are currently investigating and following leads…No arrest have been made at this time.”
According to the BOLO, 500 pounds of marijuana was taken as well as passports and “other various items.” The marijuana was loaded into a white Ford F150 pulling an unknown type of trailer. Two vehicles were stolen by the suspects from the legal farm. It is unclear if the vehicles are still being sought.
Allen was unable to give any additional details though he said there would be a press release when there is more information.
