Off-duty Cleveland officer working security detail arrests man for groping woman at concert
CLEVELAND, Ohio October 25 2019— A northwestern Ohio man is accused of groping a woman during a concert at the House of Blues in downtown Cleveland.
Daniel May, 35, of Ney in Defiance County, is charged with gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony. He was released from the Cuyahoga County Jail on a personal bond after his first court appearance Monday, according to court records.
The incident happened about 10 p.m. Thursday at the concert venue on Euclid Avenue at East 4th Street, during a concert that featured the heavy-metal bands All That Remains and Lacuna Coil.
May groped a 26-year-old woman at the concert, court records say. She tried to leave, but May wouldn’t let her, according to court records.
A Cleveland police officer moonlighting as a security guard at the venue arrested May, according to a police dispatch log.
Cleveland police have not yet released the police report on the incident.
