Santa Ana: Security Guard Injured After Negligent Discharge
SANTA ANA CA November 6 2019 – A security guard who accidentally shot himself drove to a Carl’s Jr. for help, early Sunday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a shooting victim at the Carl’s Jr. located in the 1800 block of East Edinger Avenue around 1:26 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a blue sedan in the drive-through area of the business with an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
Firefighter paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in stable condition.
Authorities said the man is a security guard and was adjusting his holster when his weapon discharged.
The man then drove to a nearby Carl’s Jr. drive-through and asked the clerk to call for help.
Police officials said the man was authorized to carry a firearm.
