Muncy PA Nov 25 2019
A patient undergoing a mental evaluation at Muncy Valley Hospital stabbed a security guard multiple times with a pen, according to Pennsylvania State Police Montoursville.
Brian James Lee, 33, of Montgomery, was undergoing a mental evaluation for split personalities on November 8, 2019, according to the affidavit by Trooper Andrew Dalkiewicz.
At approximately 6:30 a.m., Lee engaged in a conversation with the security guard standing in his doorway. Lee asked the guard to, “write down his name and his split personality name,” Trooper Dalkiewicz wrote.
When the guard asked Lee if there was anything else he wanted, Lee reportedly yelled, “Yeah, die!” Lee then stabbed the guard in his left arm twice, in the back of the neck and in the back region with a pen, according to the affidavit.
“It was evident that Lee tried to harm [the guard] and engaged in a physical altercation with [the guard.] The marks were superficial in nature,” Trooper Dalkiewicz wrote.
Lee was charged with one second degree felony count of aggravated assault, one first degree misdemeanor count of possession of a weapon, one second degree misdemeanor count of simple assault, and one summary count of harassment – subject other to physical contact.
Lee was held for count on all charges at a preliminary hearing before Lycoming County Magisterial District Judge Jon E. Kemp on November 15, 2019. His bail was set at $45,000 straight bail.
He is scheduled for a formal arraignment before President Judge Nancy L. Butts on December 2, 2019.
