Hotel security officer, attacked over alleged debt

A woman flagged down a passing police officer to inform him of a fight at a near-by hotel and police went to investigate.
Police arrived at the Ocean Park Hotel located at 2680 Ocean Park Ave and found two men with one identified as a security officer.
Officers separated the two men and the security officer stated that the unknown male approached him accusing the security officer of owing him money. When the security officer told the man to leave, he attacked the security guard.
The security officer sustained a small abrasion to his hand.
Police determined that he fight was unprovoked and the security officer did not have any idea what the man was talking about.
Trey Darin Gibson, 24, of Santa Monica, was booked for battery and vandalism. His bail was set at $20,000.
