No reported injuries after an armored vehicle hydroplanes, overturns in Buncombe County NC
BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. Feb 7 2020 Heavy police presence surrounded the Buncombe County, Haywood County line near Interstate 40 Wednesday morning after an armored car overturned.
Troopers said on Feb. 5, 2020, the vehicle hydroplaned at exit 37, westbound, then overturned and came to rest on a guard rail.
Officials said the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the incident at 8 a.m. The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office provided numerous officers to secure the scene due to all of the money in the vehicle.
The driver of the armored vehicle was not injured and was charged with exceeding the safe speed for conditions, according to officials. No other vehicles were involved.
