Bouncers violently remove patron at nightclub
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. Sept 3 2017 Officers were called out to Brix Lounge early Friday morning to confront two men for allegedly being intoxicated in public and threatening a security guard, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Witnesses at the nightclub tell a different story.
“I have never seen a security handle someone like if they were in a wrestling match,” wrote Alex Yo on Facebook. “The security provoked the whole situation and threw the first (and only) blows after choking the guy. This was totally unnecessary and extremely unprofessional on the security’s part!”
Yo said she never saw what prompted security to escort two men, but recorded the incident and posted it online. In less than a day, it had already been viewed nearly 50,000 times.
Security officers told police one of the men, 22-year-old Abraham Espinoza, threatened to kill a security guard. Espinoza was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and making criminal threats. That guard allegedly then grabbed a gun, but never fired it.
The other man, 21-year-old Christian Martinez, was arrested but later released.
The patrons weren’t armed.
