Saint Lucia security officer shot during robbery
Saint Lucia Sept 6 2017 A male security guard has been hospitalised after being shot during an alleged attempted armed robbery at the building that houses Caribbean Cinemas and Domino’s Pizza.
The incident occurred just after 8 p.m.
The security guard, who is believed to be in his 30s, received multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body after he confronted the robbers.
Emergency personnel found him in the car park unconscious and transported him to Victoria Hospital via ambulance. His condition is unknown at this time.
One of the robbers was allegedly shot by the security officer, but he escaped.
Reports are that a male turned up at Victoria Hospital to receive treatment for gunshot wounds. He is currently being interviewed by police.
It is not yet confirmed if the patient is connected with the armed robbery.
Unconfirmed reports are that the gunmen attempted to rob Domino’s Pizza.
