Florida bouncer charged with sexual battery
Gainesville FL March 15 2020
A Gainesville man was arrested Wednesday on allegations he sexually battered a woman he met in a downtown bar and took to his apartment.
Timothy Andrew Eyler, 21, was charged with one count of sexual battery of a victim who was physically helpless, according to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report.
Eyler is listed in the report as a bouncer at the Grog House at 1718 W. University Ave.
The woman reported that on Jan. 7 she had a few drinks at White Buffalo at 111 S. Main St. About midnight she went to The Range bar at 10 SE Second Ave.
“The victim does not remember anything from that point forward, until waking up in bed with the defendant,” the report states.
Eyler was on top of her, and she tried to stop him, the report states. She passed out again and awoke at daylight, police reported.
Police said the woman told them she had never seen Eyler before. On Jan. 10 she went to UF Health Shands Hospital and had a sexual battery forensic exam.
On Jan. 11 the woman went to the Grog House and identified Eyler, the report said. On Feb. 27, a call with police listening in was made to Eyler’s cellphone. He said he met the woman at The Range and took her to his apartment, but said they did not have sex.
However, the report states that Eyler eventually admitted to sexual activity and asked her not to call police. He said he would pay for an abortion if needed.
