Man accused of hitting security officer at Norridge mall
Norridge IL Sept 18 2017 A 19-year-old Palatine man was charged with aggravated battery to a security officer and criminal trespass after police were dispatched to the Harlem Irving Plaza where mall security was arresting someone for trespassing.
Bond was set at $20,000 for Trevor Kristo, of the 200 block of Forest Lane.
He is due in court Sept. 28. The incident occurred at 11:08 a.m. Aug. 26.
An officer spoke to a mall security officer who said he was arresting someone for trespassing when the man turned and struck him in the chest with a closed fist.
The man headed west on Berteau then north on Odell before security lost sight in the 4200 block of Odell.
The guard told police that as a Norridge police officer he interacted with the man in a previous disturbance at the mall.
A photo lineup was generated and a positive identification of the suspect was made, police said. Kristo told police that he had tried to run away from the incident because he was scared.
He denied striking or pushing the security officer while he was attempting to leave.
