Man driving beach patrol vehicle hits 2 teens lying on Jersey Shore beach
Ship Bottom NJ May 4 2020 A man driving a Ship Bottom Beach Patrol vehicle hit two teens that were lying on the beach on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. on the 26th Street Beach when officers were called to the area for a report of two young girls that were struck by the vehicle, according to a release from the Ship Bottom Police.
A 15-year-old girl from Fleetwood, Pennsylvania and 14-year-old girl from Leestwood, Pennsylvania were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where they were treated and later released from the hospital to their families, police said.
The driver of the beach patrol vehicle, a 22-year-old Barnegat resident, was charged with reckless driving pending his court date, according to a release.
