Female Florida Security Officer Found Murdered
BOYNTON BEACH FL May 11 2020 — A man is charged with fatally shooting a female security officer at the gatehouse of a neighborhood west of Boynton Beach, authorities said.
Jones Phillipe, 21, of Greenacres, was booked Saturday morning at the Palm Beach County Jail. He was expected to appear for a bond hearing on Sunday.
Jones is charged with murder, armed burglary and burglary with assault or battery.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, they got a call of shots fired and found the security officer dead at the gatehouse of the Platina community, near Boynton Beach Boulevard west of Military Trail.
The agency said detectives later arrested Jones.
PBSO said Jones and the woman knew each other but said the slaying did not appear to be a domestic case. The agency did not immediately say where the female security officer lived.
Stuart Pernick, president of the homeowners’ association for the 1,152-unit community, said Saturday he did not want to comment.
A call Saturday to the security officer’’s employer, Boca Raton-based Frontline Protective Services, was not returned.
Palm Beach County court records show no previous cases for Phillipe.
