QuikTrip security officer info helps police capture shooter of 5 year old child
KANSAS CITY, Mo. May 15 2020— Two people are facing charges in connection with a March 31 shooting that left a 5-year-old child with gunshot wounds to her face.
Jackson County prosecutors charged Andres Roldan, 26, and Teresa Ramirez-Martinez, 41, with aggravated assault and armed criminal action.
Police said a security guard at a QuikTrip near 6800 East Truman Road heard gunshots during the evening of March 31 and spotted a man hanging out of a window holding a rifle. The security guard reported hearing eight to 10 gunshots.
Police arrested Roldan on April 29 while he was sleeping in a car. A firearm and body armor were allegedly in the car at the time of the arrest.
Ramirez-Martinez was arrested with a stolen handgun that eventually matched shell casings from the March 31 scene, according to police.
Police said the girl is making a “good recovery,” but will have lasting damage to her face.
