Cleveland State University buildings damaged by protesters
CLEVELAND OH June 2 2020 — Several businesses and establishments were damaged after peaceful protest turned violent Saturday evening.
Among the establishments damaged is Cleveland State University. Four of the school’s building suffered “minimal damage,” a statement issued Sunday morning explains. The damage included broken windows and graffiti.
In response to the damage, CSU is restricting university access to only designated essential employees.
“The safety and security of our students, faculty and staff is our most important priority,” said Cleveland State President Harlan Sands, who visited the campus Sunday morning.
Members of the CSU community who are downtown and have safety concerns should call 911 or campus police at 216-687-2020.
