Omaha police officer working security job involved in shooting
OMAHA, Neb. June 15 2020
Omaha Police say an off-duty officer fired at a shooting suspect, early Saturday morning.
Officers tell us they received a call from the off-duty Bellevue officer around 2 a.m. The officer was working security in the area of 12th & Davenport streets and reported the shooting.
Investigators say the shooting suspect fired at Jose Santos Parra Juarez, 26. That’s when the off-duty Bellevue officer shot at the suspect.
Both Parra Juarez and the suspect were taken to the hospital. Parra Juarez died from his injuries.
The suspect did survive and was taken into custody.
Police have not yet identified the off-duty officer involved or the suspect.
