Greenville SC Security Officer Shot To Death
GREENVILLE, S.C. June 15 2020
Greenville police are investigating the homicide death of a security officer who was shot and killed at a local bar.
Police said that he was shot after asking an intoxicated person to leave the bar, police said Sunday.
Lieutenant Alia Paramore says officers went to the The Coliseum on Haywood Road around 1:35 a.m. in reference to a shooting.
Paramore says the victim was on duty, and asked an intoxicated person to leave several times.
The Greenville County Deputy Coroner identified the security guard as Deyarian Abercrombie, 33, of Greenville.
Police say that suspect was never served alcohol at the bar.
Lt. Paramore says after being denied service, the suspect went to his car, got a gun and walked back into the bar through a back entrance.
Police say surveillance video shows the suspect fire the gun at the Abercrombie several times, then leave in an SUV.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Police say the investigation isĀ ongoing at this time.
