Penn Hills woman ran through airport security checkpoint, tossed water on TSA agent
Allegheny County PA Aug 21 2020
A Penn Hills woman was arrested by county police on Wednesday after tossing water on a TSA agent and running unchecked past the Pittsburgh International Airport’s security checkpoint.
Allegheny County police said Brandi L. Bailey, 32, of Penn Hills, threw water on a TSA agent when asked for her identification and ticket at the airport security checkpoint. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Bailey was subdued by an Allegheny County Police officer who sat her on a nearby bench.
Police said Bailey started fighting with them and ran for the airport train when it arrived at the landside terminal, but was again detained.
Inspector Kenneth Ruckel, police division commander at the airport, said no officers were injured.
Police do not believe Bailey was a ticketed passenger.
“It’s unknown what her intentions where,” Ruckel said.
She was taken to Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh to await arraignment on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and criminal trespass, according to police.
An airport spokesman deferred comment to the county police.
