Greely CO Aug 22 2020 A 25-year-old man has a court date scheduled Friday on allegations he bit an EMT and headbutted a security guard at a Greeley hospital.
Greeley police responded about 4:15 a.m. Aug. 13 to the UCHealth Greeley Hospital, 6767 29th St. Once on scene, police learned Eric Leafgren, 25, bit the index and middle fingers of an EMT while receiving emergency medical care, according to an affidavit for his arrest. He broke the skin, drawing blood and causing the EMT a great amount of pain, the affidavit states.
During the same incident, according to police, Leafgren grabbed the right arm of a security officer and headbutted her between the eyebrows, causing minor swelling and pain.
He refused to answer police questions about the incident.
About 11 hours later, police took Leafgren into custody on suspicion of two counts of second-degree assault, a Class 4 felony.
He remains in custody as of Thursday morning. Leafgren has an advisement hearing 8:30 a.m. Friday in Weld District Court.
