Two men in Llano Co. accused of stealing $20K worth of electronics from Walmart
Llano TX Sept 27 2020
The Llano County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men for allegedly stealing approximately $20,000 in electronics from Walmart.
Robert Lee Williams III, 27, and Jerome Anthony Ward, 26, both from Galveston, are charged with theft and fictitious name.
The sheriff’s office says on Wednesday they were notified that a Nissan 4-door car involved in thefts from Walmarts in the San Angelo and Brady area was headed toward Llano on Hwy 71.
A traffic stop was initiated in the Valley Spring area where Williams, Ward and two females were detained. During a search of the car deputies discovered 16 iPhones, 81 AirPods, 6 Powerbeats, 1 iPod Touch, and 1 Apple TV. All items were still in their boxes and suspected of being stolen — with a value at well over $20,000.
The sheriff’s office says surveillance video from a San Angelo Walmart showed the two men in the store and responsible for the thefts.
Williams also had more than 19 felony warrants ranging from theft to organized criminal activity.
The two females who were initially detained were released pending further investigation.
