2 patients attack staff, escape from Quebec City psychiatric hospital
Quebec Canada Oct 10 2017 Two patients from the Quebec Mental Health University Institute attacked a security guard and sequestered a nurse Sunday night, according to the Journal de Montréal.
The incident began around 10:50 p.m. when the two patients, who were being held by legal order at the psychiatric hospital, tried to escape.
They hit the security guard in the head and then threatened the nurse with a knife. The nurse was not injured, and the guard suffered minor injuries.
The nurse let the individuals leave, but they were apprehended within a kilometre of the institute by Quebec City police.
They will appear in court via video conference Monday and could face charges of kidnapping, assault and uttering threats.
