Security guard charged with attempted murder
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Dec 13 2020Â A security guard is charged with attempted murder in connection to a shooting at a flea market in West Palm Beach.
Naseve Anthony Reid, 46, is accused of shooting a man that he watched steal his car from outside a barbershop at the West Palm Beach Flea Market on 45th Street last week.
According to the arrest report, Reid said he had to jump out of the way before he shot into his car at the driver.
However, multiple witnesses told police Reid was never in front of the car and shot the fleeing thief from the driver’s side as the car passed by.
Police said Reid, who is licensed to carry a firearm, called 911.
Reid told police he believed the driver was armed and didn’t want to take any chances.
Police, according to the report, did not find a weapon in the car.
The shooting victim is now blind.
Police said the bullet went through his left hand before penetrating his left eye.
The bullet stopped between his right eye and right temple.
