Private Officer International Creates Think Tank
Charlotte NC January 26th, 2021
A new and exciting addition to the Private Officer International organization was announced Tuesday, by the Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Rick McCann.
The National Public Safety and Security Institute, a non-profit Think Tank has been launched to create policies, training guidelines and best practices, work with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance, educational standards, and make recommendations on all areas of public safety and private security services.
The NPSSI will be actively involved and forward-thinking, progressive and participate in five key areas of these industries:
1. Education
2. Policies
3. Best Practices
4. Technology
5. Advocacy
The NPSSI will bring security company owners, campus law enforcement and security, loss prevention agents and frontline personnel from all areas of security, safety and law enforcement, mid-level management, and executive staff to the tables to collaborate on the five areas that must be addressed as the private security industry continues to evolve and public safety services at all levels are being stretched and reimagined as the need for these services continue to explode.
Two areas of immediate concerns that will be addressed are:
1. Making the Workplace Safer
Reducing Employee Injuries and Deaths, specifically, homicides of security personnel.
2. Regulating, Training All Persons Performing Security/Public Safety Duties
This will include loss prevention, proprietary, bouncers and club staff, and event staff.
A new website, office, and staff will be in place by early spring 2021.
We currently have 2 open Board of Trustee member positions. If you are interested in serving in these positions, please contact Mr. Kyle Greene.
Additional information will be announced soon but, in the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact: kyletgreene@privateofficer.com
