Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson arrested for fighting security and police officers
Miami FL May 9 2017 Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson was arrested Sunday at a Miami music festival, after allegedly fighting with security and police officers.
Anderson, 23, is being charged with one felony count of resisting arrest with violence, and obstruction of justice according to a police report obtained by The Record.
“Anderson was fighting with security after being told to leave,” the police report said.
“Anderson refused to leave and was told by the officer to sit on the ground.
Anderson tensed his body and pushed the officer.
Anderson was redirected to the ground and continued to fight with police and security. Anderson was arrested.”
Through a spokesperson, the Jets said they are “aware of the situation.”
“This is a pending legal matter,” the spokesperson said, “And we will have no further comment at this time.”
On Sunday afternoon, Anderson posted a photo of himself to Instagram at Miami’s Bayfront Park, where the festival is being held. Anderson turns 24 on Tuesday.
Anderson, who was born in Teaneck and grew up in South Florida, first appeared on the Jets’ radar at rookie minicamp a year ago. The former Temple standout surprisingly made the Jets as an undrafted rookie free agent and had a strong 2016 season with 42 catches, 587 yards and two touchdowns.
