Private security called in to protect construction sites in Texas
Dallas TX Feb 24 2021
After a massive winter storm forced construction projects to shut down for nearly a week, many contractors returned to work Feb. 22 to find broken pipes, spotty electricity, and job sites in need of significant cleanup.
Others found that squatters had moved into finished buildings or those that were just partially completed.
Some developers posted additional security officers at their job sites to ensure that squatters did not take up residence in partially completed buildings.
In one subdivision, returning builders found that wood had been stolen and used to build fires nearby.
Police said that they had received a few complaints of theft on construction sites.
