Man flees after stabbing New Orleans security officer several times
New Orleans LA May 9 2017 New Orleans investigators are searching for a man accused of punching a security guard and then stabbing him several times after he was asked to leave a South Carrollton Avenue bar late Friday (May 5), according to the NOPD.
The unidentified man is suspected of aggravated battery in the attack, which occurred shortly after 11 p.m. at the Shamrock bar in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue, near Tulane Avenue.
When the security guard asked the man to leave, he punched the guard, sparking a brief struggle, police said.
During the scuffle, the man pulled a knife and stabbed the guard four times before being wrestled to the floor by others at the scene, according to the NOPD. The man then fled.

In February, a security guard at a daiquiri shop in Algiers was shot in the face and hand during an attempted robbery, according to police.
The guard was outside the Daiquiri Place, in the 3700 block of Gen. DeGaulle Drive, when an armed man approached and demanded money late Feb. 11, according to NOPD. The guard refused and the two men exchanged gunfire, police said.
Police later arrested Marcell Dwayne Ledet, 30, in connection with the shooting, booking him with attempted armed robbery, illegal use of a firearm and aggravated second-degree battery.
According to Orleans Parish court records, Ledet was formally charged April 21 with attempted second-degree murder, attempted armed robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He pleaded not guilty to the charges April 26.
