Employee, security guard assaulted by woman trying to steal clothes at Battle Creek store
BATTLE CREEK, MI March 13 2021 Police in Battle Creek are trying to locate a female suspect who is accused of trying to steal nearly $1,000 worth of clothing from a Meijer store earlier this week. She is also accused of assaulting a security officer and a store employee.
It happened at the store on W. Columbia Ave. The security officer said the woman loaded a cart with clothes and tried to exit the store. After he followed her out, he says she slapped him, threw the clothes at him, and left in a car, which is said to be from a Kalamazoo dealership.
A store employee said he also had an incident with the woman earlier. He told her she couldn’t check out with more than 20 items at the lane she was at. He said she slapped him when he tried to assist her to another area.
