Security guards likely to remain in Tempe parks; plan calls for more social workers

A temporary decision to staff area parks with
private security officers has been extended several months ago and now it has been extended again.
No one knows how much longer the city will use the security company, G4S, to provide these services but plans are in the works to also add social workers to the teams because of the increase of Homeless persons using the park as shelters.
The parks will also add other mental health and social services in the coming months.
