Aunik Mondal and Jagadish Chandra Joy have asked the federal court to enforce the settlement agreement with their previous employer.
The plaintiffs, in a handwritten request, informed District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona that they did not receive the required payments in February and March.
“Your honor please help us…get our payment,” they said.
In November 2018, Mondal filed a complaint against Akhil Chandra Mollick, alleging violations of the U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act, the Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007, the CNMI Minimum Wage and Hour Act, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.
Mollick is the principal of Mollick Enterprises, which provides security, marine sports, and maintenance services.
In an amended complaint, Jagadish Chandra Joy joined the lawsuit as another plaintiff.
In August 2020, Judge Manglona approved a settlement agreement between the parties.
According to the settlement agreement, $17,000 shall be paid to the plaintiffs in the following manner:

- $2,000 on Jan. 1, 2021
- $2,000 on Feb. 2, 2021
- $2,000 on March 1, 2021
