Cape Coral police arrest man who threatened bar security with knife
Cape Coral FL April 8 2021 A man who threatened several people at knifepoint in Cape Coral’s downtown bar district Sunday night is now facing charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
Officers responded to the area shortly before 1 a.m. on a report of an intoxicated patron.
A Cape Coral police report said Daniel Richard Elliott, 40, was intoxicated and refusing to pay his bar tab at Backstreets. Elliott eventually paid his bar tab and left.
Elliott was later involved in a disturbance at Rack ‘em Spirits and Times where he was alleged to have threatened a patron with a knife.
While officers were speaking with Elliott, a bouncer from Rusty’s Raw Bar and Grill identified him as the man who threatened him with a knife after being escorted earlier out of Rusty’s Raw Bar and Grill.
Police found a large fixed blade knife in Elliot’s right pants pocket.
Elliott remains in Lee County Jail on $16,000 bond and a May 3 arraignment. He is also is subject of an out-of-state warrant from North Carolina.
No hometown or residence was listed for Elliott.
