Losal Phaynid was charged with third-degree robbery as a third-degree felony and assault as a misdemeanor in connection to the 88 Leisure Game Room robbery, according to a magistrate’s complaint.
Phaynid, 20, was seen on April 6 via video surveillance footage assaulting a security guard at the game room with another male before both left the scene, according to police.
Officers received a report at 12:18 a.m. of a disturbance at the game room and upon arrival spoke with the reporting person who said he had seen a fight, the complaint said.
The two unidentified robbers of 88 Leisure Game Room were seen driving a white sedan via video surveillance.
Officers then met with the victim who stated he was assaulted by two men he didn’t know. He said the first man, later identified as Phaynid, struck him on the left side of the head, right behind his ear, with a rock, according to the complaint.
Officers noted the victim’s injuries included a bump protruding with an inch and a half cut above it to the left side of his head, behind the ear, as well as redness to the front and side of his face, the complaint said.
The victim attempted to cover his head and make his way to the cashier, when the second suspect joined in on the assault of Phaynid, according to the complaint.
Phaynid took the victim’s phone and car keys that were on the table at the front of the game room, according to the complaint.
Phaynid said, “Hurry up, we have to go,” and “this is M2B turf,” during the attack, the complaint said.
After viewing the CCTV footage, officers noted Phaynid’s vehicle was a Honda Civic and later located the owner, who said the defendant uses the vehicle. Officers gained consent to search the vehicle and found the clothes Phaynid used in the robbery, the complaint said.
The owner of the vehicle told officers Phaynid admitted to fighting with the security guard, the complaint sai.
During the arrest, an officer read Phaynid his Miranda rights, which he signed and waived, according to the complaint.
Phaynid said the victim had assaulted him in 2019 and that he recognized him when he went to the game room, according to the complaint.
Phaynid admitted to striking the victim on the left side of his head and continuing to punch him while he was on the floor. He said he may have yelled “M2B” in the heat of the moment and that he also took the phone and keys, according to the complaint.
