Lehighton, PA May 16 2021
Students at Pleasant Valley High School use an awards ceremony to show off their artwork and honor a very important member of the staff at the same time. The artwork included a painting of the district security guard, Don Webber.
He has been with the district in Brodheadsville for 16 years. In the painting he is proudly wearing full Native American regalia. Webber tells us he was proud to be featured in the ceremony and represent the rich history his culture has to offer.
“We as Native Americans when you take a picture or a painting you take away the spirit, but this is an inspiration of emotion and feeling for all people,” Webber, said.
The painting is expected to be placed on display in the hallway of the new auditorium at the high school.
