Shootout at Hillcrest Medical Center leaves security guard, woman injured
TULSA, Okla. May 29 2021 Tulsa police say two people are injured after a shooting at Hillcrest Medical Center on Thursday night.
Officers said a security guard was checking out a noise around 10 p.m. when a woman in a car pulled out a gun and fired a shot at the guard’s chest.
Fortunately for the security guard, he was wearing a bullet proof vest, which stopped the bullet. He returned fire, hitting the woman.
Officials with Hillcrest Medical Center released the following statement:
We are working with TPD to determine the facts related to this incident.
Security personnel are stationed across the hospital’s campus; the safety of our employees and patients is our top priority. We will continue to work with the authorities to ascertain the facts and will provide updates as possible.
Police say both the woman and the security guard are expected to be OK.
The woman was treated for her injuries and is in custody.
