Major traffic backup blamed on woman who threatened security guard with gun
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. June 25 2021
Police say a major traffic backup along I-25 just before rush hour was caused by a woman who threatened a security guard with a gun before driving off.
Officials with Albuquerque Police say the woman threatened a security guard at the Hawthorne Suites on Gibson Boulevard with a gun and then took off in her car, driving erratically.
Officers used a PIT maneuver to stop the woman’s car and take her into custody.
The incident prompted police to close I-25 at Sunport for a few hours Wednesday. Lanes were eventually reopened.
