OKLAHOMA CITY OK July 23 2021
Court documents revealed new information regarding a shooting at an Oklahoma City fast food restaurant, where a security guard is accused of beating and shooting a man, critically injuring him.
According to Oklahoma City police, officers responded at about 10 p.m. on July 9 to a report of a shooting at Taco Bell at 936 West Sheridan Avenue.
They arrived and found the victim, Bradly Allen Bishop, in the parking lot, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Bishop was taken to OU Medical Center in critical condition.
Police said the victim came to the restaurant to get some water.
He was not wearing shoes inside and was confronted by the security guard.
Police said as seen in surveillance video, the security guard expanded his baton during the confrontation, and Bishop was not being violent and was not saying anything to anyone else.
The security guard was seen using the baton to push Bishop out of the business. At one point, Bishop slipped and stumbled, and the security guard was seen hitting Bishop with the baton, according to police.
Once outside, police said surveillance video shows the security guard and Bishop were involved in a verbal confrontation, and that Bishop threw something at the guard. That’s when the security guard went to his vehicle to retrieve a firearm.
Bishop was also seen removing his belt from his pants and using it to hit the security guard. As Bishop turned away and began to walk away, the security guard was seen on surveillance video shooting Bishop from behind, striking him multiple times.
According to police, the security guard later told officers that Bishop was armed with a knife, however, police said the video shows Bishop was not armed with a knife and that no knife was recovered from the scene.
The security guard was arrested on a complaint of assault and battery with a deadly weapon.
