Security guard accused of raping patient at Cincinnati health center
CINCINNATI OH July 27 2021
A rape investigation is underway at a place known for healing and the suspect comes from a traditionally trusted group.
According to police, the female victim is a patient who relies on the Bobbie Sterne Health Center for her medical needs.
The suspect was a security guard at the center until his arrest a week ago.
Terry Hobbs, 42, is not employed by the city, but by a company health centers have contracted with.
Hobbs was arrested last Monday, July 19, the same day the victim told investigators she was compelled to submit to his sexual assault by threat of force.
Hobbs was employed by ESP/Ohio Security.
According to Kelly Carr with the City Manager’s office, as soon as the city got wind of the rape investigation and charge, it contacted the Cincinnati Health Department and asked that the contract with ESP/Ohio Security be terminated.
“Cincinnati Police are now providing security detail at our Cincinnati Health Clinics and will continue to do so until a new service provider can be contracted,” Carr said in a prepared statement.
Hobbs is being held on a $150,000 bond at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
Grand jury action in his case is anticipated towards the end of the week.
Efforts to contact legal representation for Hobbs have been unsuccessful so far.
