One dead in Hemet CA following confrontation with security guard

A man has died following a confrontation with a security guard in Hemet Friday, Aug. 6.
The incident, first reported at about 11:45 p.m., Friday, Aug. 6, occurred in the 2000 block of E. Florida Avenue near a “popular fast-food restaurant,” according to a press release issued by the Hemet Police Department.
“911 dispatchers began receiving calls regarding a shooting,” the report said.
“One of the calls was from an on-duty armed security guard who said that he shot someone who had attacked him.”
Hemet police and Hemet fire responded to the scene where they found a 30-year-old unidentified man “down” in the parking lot suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The 43-year-old security guard who admitted to shooting the man, said that it happened during a physical struggle and altercation with the man.
