New Jersey Police Sergeant Dies After Suffering Stroke On Duty
Berkeley Township NJ Nov 6 2017 A Berkeley Township, New Jersey police sergeant died after suffering a stroke while on duty Friday.
Sgt. Alison Wray, 32, died unexpectedly after serving on the force for nine years, according to NJ.com.
“Sergeant Wray was known for her intelligence, compassion and dedication to her officers whom she considered family,” Berkeley Police Chief Karin DiMichele said.
“Alison was a mother of beyond belief, she often joked about being the stereotypical ‘PTA Mother’ and often was very eccentric, to say the least, about proper care for her children,” the officer’s family wrote on a fundraiser page to raise money for her two young children — ages 2 and 4.
She also leaves behind her fiance, Berkeley Township Sgt. Henry Ganska, also of the Police Department, and her two stepchildren, ages 11 and 15.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
