Des Plaines IL Aug 28 2021
A Wisconsin woman wanted on accusations she stole 16 $500 chips from a blackjack dealer’s cache at Rivers Casino in Des Plaines has been arrested, police announced Wednesday.
Casino security agents and law enforcement worked together to identify the person responsible for the theft.
Vanessa Walls, 38, of Madison is charged with theft in connection with the June 12 incident, authorities say.
Walls was identified by River’s security through her player’s card, which she’d used earlier, police said.
An arrest warrant was issued July 30, and Walls surrendered at the police station Monday.
