Mobile Infirmary security detains man for robbery
Mobile AL Sept 6 2021 A Louisiana man is in police custody after attempting to rob an individual near a Mobile hospital, according to police.
Jamall Polk, 43, of New Orleans, was booked into Mobile Metro Jail around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Polk is charged with third-degree robbery for an incident that took place nearly two hours prior.
According to Officer Katrina Frazier of the Mobile Police Department, officers were called to Mobile Infirmary around 12:19 p.m., in reference to a robbery.
When officers arrived, they found that Polk allegedly tried to force an unnamed individual out of their vehicle by opening their car door.
Polk was detained at the scene by hospital security and transferred to Mobile Police custody soon after, according to Fraizer.
According to jail records, he’s being held on a $3,000 bond, as well as being held for safekeeping for the New Orleans Police Department.
Mobile police are still investigating.
