New video shows alleged gunman who shot and killed DC special officer
WASHINGTON DC October 29 2021— Special Police Officer Angela Washington, a mother of four, was fatally shot in September. DC Police are still searching for her killer.
Officers arrived on scene in the 3300 block of 10th Place, Southeast on Sept. 21 to find Washington, 41, showing no signs of life, suffering from a gunshot wound. She was still on duty when it happened, killed in her Special Police Officer uniform.
Police released new surveillance footage Thursday in hopes that it will help a member of the public recognize the suspect and share any additional information they may have. Watch the footage in full below.
Washington, who lived in Suitland, Maryland, is survived by her four children, who are between the ages of 17 and 23, as well as grandchildren.
“She was the best mother,” her husband, Reginald said. “The best wife on Earth to me.”
Reginald Washington said his wife loved serving her community. He said she organized an after-school program named “The Difference” that worked to keep underprivileged children off the street.
“This was her passion,” Reginald Washington said. “She just wanted to help make a change.”
Initially, investigators said that they were on the lookout for a White Camry with dark tinted windows. The car was last seen on Wheeler Road heading towards Southern Avenue.
