Security guard faces murder charge after killing at illegal Oak Cliff game room
Dallas TX November 4 2021
A man who worked as a security guard at an illegal game room faces a murder charge after police say he shot a man in the throat with a shotgun in what one witness said was a contract killing, according to court records.
Odis Don Price, 56, is accused of killing Robert Reynoso about 9:30 a.m. Saturday outside the game room on the 1600 block of East Eleventh Street, near South Corinth Road in East Oak Cliff.
He was arrested Monday. His attorney declined to comment Wednesday.
According to court documents, security wouldn’t allow Reynoso into the gambling room. He went back to his car, then returned and tried to enter again, when he was met by a security guard with a shotgun, a witness told police.

“The security person held the shotgun up and fired it once, striking … Reynoso in the throat,” a detective wrote in an arrest warrant affidavit. Reynoso was pronounced dead at a hospital, and the witness later identified Price as the security guard.
A woman who worked at the game room told police that Price told her that he had been hired to kill Reynoso, according to court records. She did not say who hired Price, who she knew as “Cowboy” or how much was paid, the records state. The woman was not there at the time of the shooting.
Price was booked into Dallas County jail on charges including murder and forgery. He’s being held on more than $500,000 bond.
This is the fifth fatal shooting by private security in the last ten days.
