Vicksburg MS security guard commits suicide at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility

A local official says a security guard has died after a shooting was reported at a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility in Mississippi.
The shooting was reported at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the main gate of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center on Halls Ferry Road in Vicksburg, according to police.
The Vicksburg Post reported that Justin Rone May, 37, was pronounced dead at Merit Health River Region by Warren County Deputy Coroner Kelda Bailess.
Bailess said it now appears the guard shot himself, but that remained under investigation by police.
ERDC employees were ordered to shelter in place until the scene was cleared later Thursday afternoon.
