55-year-old woman accidentally discharges firearm at Opelika AL TJ Maxx
OPELIKA, Ala. Dec 2, 2021 Last-minute Christmas shoppers had a scary experience at one east Alabama store Monday afternoon.
A 55-year-old woman accidentally fired a shot at TJ Maxx in Opelika, according to police. Authorities say the incident happened shortly after 2 p.m. at the retailer on Tiger Town Parkway.
According to officers, the woman accidentally dropped the firearm, causing it to discharge and strike her foot.
She was transported to the hospital for treatment.
