Atlanta GA Jan 30,2022
Atlanta police are asking for help identifying a man suspected of shooting two people early Saturday near a Buckhead nightclub where the suspect was seen earlier.
In a video released by police Friday, the suspected shooter can be seen coming down the stairs at a nightlife complex on Peachtree Road that includes Moondog’s, Red Martini Lounge and Hole in the Wall. The suspect is highlighted in the video and was wearing a denim jacket with a light-colored collar and an orange baseball cap. The video footage shows him talking to several other people who police said are not suspects but may know the man.
The video was taken prior to the shooting, police said, which took place around 2:45 a.m. about a block away on Peachtree Road and left a man and woman injured. Investigators believe the two victims were involved in a dispute with the suspect that escalated into an exchange of gunfire.
The shooting suspect is seen on security footage at the nightclub complex in Buckhead that includes Red Martini Lounge, Moondog’s and Hole in the Wall.
The incident nearly a week ago adds to the grim total of five shootings at Atlanta-area nightclubs within the past week. Early Friday, a man and woman were injured in a shooting at 12th Street and Crescent Avenue, a popular nightlife district in Midtown.
On Sunday, gunfire erupted in the parking lot of Loca Luna in the Amsterdam Walk development near Piedmont Park. No one was injured then, but a man was found shot nearby in what police believe was a related incident, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. Two days later, spent shell casings were found outside of Chic Restaurant and Lounge downtown. The following day, a man was killed outside of the Blue Flame, a strip club in northwest Atlanta.
