Dallas club security guard shot
DALLAS TX April 19 2022 — A Dallas nightclub security guard was hospitalized after he was shot by a group of suspects early Sunday, following an argument at the club, police said.
This comes as city officials are looking to cut hours at sexually oriented businesses.
Police initially said they responded to the shooting just after 6 a.m. at XTC Cabaret. However, on Monday, police said the shooting happened in the 1300 block of Empire Central Drive, just south of XTC.
According to police, the security guard had gotten into an argument with the group at an unknown time and escorted the suspects off the property.
Police said the security guard later got off his shift and got in his car. At 1311 Empire Central, a suspect vehicle pulled alongside the security guard and began shooting him, a witness told police.
The security guard was struck at least once, while the suspects fled the area, according to police.
The victim was transported to a hospital, where he is currently stable, police said.
Further details were not immediately released as the investigation continues.
