Raleigh man arrested after attacking security guard with machete
RALEIGH, N.C. April 20 2022— One man was arrested on Thursday after police say he swung a machete at a security guard.
Authorities said that Johnny Carl Avery, 68, from Raleigh, hit a security guard at Advance Community Health with a machete after being asked to leave.
The health center was closed when Avery tried to enter, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
Police said that the security guard was transported to a local hospital after Avery hit his arm.
Avery fled the scene of the crime, authorities said, but was arrested a couple hours later.
Avery was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
