Two Riverside Community College police officers injured making arrest
Riverside CA May 13, 2022 Two Riverside Community College police officers were injured Wednesday, May 11, as they arrested a man suspected of driving under the influence on the Riverside City College campus.
They tried to arrest the man in Parking Lot K after an employee reported a crash there, said Chris Clarke, a Riverside Community College District spokesman.
The arrest happened at about 1 p.m.
One officer suffered a leg injury and the other had bruises and knee pain, Clarke said. They were taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where they were treated and released.
Clarke did not immediately know on Thursday what drew the officers’ attention to the man.
RCC police identified the man as Edgardo Alfaro, 32.
He was arrested on suspicion of battery on a peace officer, being a drug addict driving a vehicle, both misdemeanors, and resisting arrest, a felony, according to the county jail log. He was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail at Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.
