Rochester hospital security officer killed in motorcycle accident
Rochester NY Dec 1 2017 Rochester police have identified the motorcyclist killed Tuesday night in a crash on Lake Avenue.
Onaje O’Mally, 33, of East Rochester died from his injuries after his motorcycle and another car collided at Lake and Lexington avenues in Rochester around 7 p.m. Tuesday, said Rochester Police Investigator Jackie Shuman.
O’Mally was a security officer at Rochester General Hospital, where he had worked for 11 years, according to hospital spokeswoman Veronica Chiesi Brown.
“He was well-known and very well liked,” she said.
O’Mally was a 2003 graduate of Fairport High School and attended Monroe Community College.
O’Mally was northbound on Lake Avenue when he struck a sedan exiting a Dollar General parking lot. The motorist, whose name was not released, was waiting for southbound traffic to clear when the crash occurred, Capt. Mark Wiater said.
The sedan driver, who is from Rochester, was not injured. O’Mally died from his injuries at Strong Memorial Hospital.
No charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
