Person Arrested After Entering Caribou High School, Spraying Fire Extinguisher
CARIBOU, Maine June 13 2022 A Person is in custody after entering Caribou High School this morning and spraying a fire extinguisher.
According to Tim Doak , Superintendent for RSU #39 , The individual, who is identified as 23 Year old Daniel Theriault, also known as Angela Theriault entered Caribou High School through the lobby entrance at around 7:20 am Thursday morning. and allegedly made their way through the building to the science wing, before being confronted by staff members.
Upon being confronted, they grabbed the fire extinguisher and sprayed it before taking off running and exited the building.
According to the Caribou Police Department : Through video evidence, Officers were able to get a description of Theriault who was located in the downtown Caribou area after receiving a tip from a citizen. Theriault was transported to the Caribou Police Department.
Students weren’t allowed to enter that part of the building while Emergency Services and custodial staff worked to clean up and ventilate the building.
Theriault is charged with : TERRORIZING (Class C felony) , CRIMINAL TRESPASS, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF – 2 counts, DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Theriault’s bail was set at $1,000 cash or $10,000 surety with a condition of not returning to any school property. Theriault’s initial court date is August 4, 2022. At the time of this incident, students were not present inside the high school and no staff were injured
