3 DC Men Charged With Assault of Security Officer After Incident At Pentagon City Mall
ARLINGTON, VA Nov 2 2022— A group of men, one holding a knife, threatened a security guard at Fashion Centre at Pentagon City on Friday afternoon after a female was caught trying to steal a pair of sunglasses, according to the Arlington County Police Department.
At about 4:20 p.m. on Friday, police were dispatched to the mall and learned that the security guard was approached by a group of men who made threats and displayed a knife, police said. The female who was caught trying to steal the sunglasses was with the group of men.
Before police arrived, the men fled the scene. Officers were able to find three of the suspects in the area. One of the suspects resisted arrest and was taken into custody with help from additional officers. During their search for another suspect, a folding knife was recovered, police said.
Aziyah Johnson, 18, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and charged with assault by mob and obstruction of justice. Tyron Yarborough, 19, of D.C. and Justin Jackson, 18, of D.C. were arrested and charged with assault by mob. All three suspects were released on unsecured bonds, police said.
